Santiago Coronado

February 20, 1929 — July 22, 2013

Santiago Coronado, 84, of Manderson, WY, passed away on July 22, 2013, in Casper, WY. Mr. Coronado was born February 20, 1929 in Hondo, Texas to Aruellio and Adelina Coronado. In August of 1950 Santiago married the love of his life, Consuelo "Connie" Molina in Odem, Texas. Santiago and Connie raised 8 children together, who grew up and made them the proud grandparents of 31 grandchildren and over 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Coronado was a hard working farmer. In his spare time (not that a farmer and father of 8 really has much) he loved to play and watch baseball. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Coronado was also a member of the Eagles Club and the National Rifle Association. As much as Santiago enjoyed these things, he was a true family man who dearly loved his wife and family. Santiago was preceded in death by his mother and father; Aruellio and Adelina Coronado of McAllen, Texas, as well and two grandsons; Travis Owen Coronado of Powell, Wyoming, and Jeffrey Leroy Coronado of Basin, Wyoming, one granddaughter; Tara Rose of Temecula, California, two son-in-laws; Cliff Miller of Basin, Wyoming and Wayne Turner of Avon Park, Florida, as well as 6 sisters. Mr. Coronado's memory will be lovingly passed on by his wife, Consuelo of Manderson, Wyoming, 3 sons; John(Leona) Coronado of Casper, Wyoming, David (Debbie) Coronado of Worland, Wyoming and Santiago Coronado Jr. of Texas, 5 daughters; Yolanda (Yoly) of Avon Park, Florida, Sali (Kevin) Hall of Basin, Wyoming, Rebecca (Kent) Miller of Worland, Wyoming, Sandy (Corey) Sanders of Temecula, California and Virginia (Scott) Mattis of Greybull, Wyoming, One sister; Maria Salazar of McAllen, Texas, and his 28 plus grandchildren and 21 plus great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Coronado will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Basin, WY. Pastor Don Woods will be officiating. As a family we would like to ask that you not wear black. Please wear cheerful colors as this is truly a celebration of Santiago's life. There will be a private family service to scatter Santiago's cremains at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Connie Coronado at Security State Bank in Basin, WY.
