Sandy was born in Pipestone, Minnesota, and spent her childhood following where her parents work led them (constructing power and telephone lines). She graduated from Wadena High School in 1956. In 1957 Sandy married Donald Larson. They followed where their work led them, eventually settling in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. They had four children: Brett, Robert, Patricia and Everett. Don was Sandy's first love and their life together was filled with many ups and many downs. They owned the Grand Rapids Motel, Aldon Company and Larson Loft Antiques. They divorced in 1976. In 1977 Sandy married William (Bill) Rush. Her relationship with Bill was the high point of her life... with Bill, she found a soulmate, the love of her life and was complete. Bill died in 1985 and his death devastated her. She persevered, as was her nature and was eventually able to move on. Her companion later in life was Archie Brisk. Archie was a solid, soft-spoken, well-grounded, man. He treated her with kindness and generosity. Sandy and Archie moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1993. Archie's deteriorating health made him choose to return to Minnesota to be closer to his family. He died in Minnesota in 2000. Sandy continued to live in Casper until her death. She loved to laugh and was a gregarious soul. Her talent in crafts was immense... she made wonderful arrangements, wreaths and swags with silk flowers ... At the local craft shows; she became known as "The Weed Lady". She tried her hand at Tole painting later in life and shared many wonderful creations with family and friends. She enjoyed antiques, gambling, garage sales and auctions. She had a very keen appreciation for stuffed bears. Anyone who knew her would be extremely hard pressed to name another person who loved the Christmas season more than her. She loved her dogs... Lilly, Lucy, Penny and Will were her most recent dear companions... they couldn't have had someone who loved them more. Finally, Sandy loved her family with all her heart and soul. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. A light has gone out here on earth, but we're sure she's watching over us.
