Sandra Pattee

May 23, 1951 — August 5, 2016

Sandra "Sandee" Pattee was born on May 23rd, 1951 in Wheatland, Wyoming. She spent her early childhood in Wheatland until her father and mother, James and Dorothy Atkinson bought a ranch in Rifle, Colorado. She and her brother Dave spent the rest of their childhood in Rifle and she graduated from Rifle High School in 1969. Sandee met and married John Pattee in 1972 and they had two daughters. John and Sandee chose to raise their daughters in Lander, Wyoming where Sandee spent the majority of her adult life. Sandee was known for her laugh and her sense of humor. She was a loyal animal rights activist, and in her 20's and 30's she worked with mentally handicapped adults at what was then called the Wyoming State Training School. Her love for the clients she worked with was immense. She was compassionate and protective of the people in her care; clients who were also her friends. She was proceeded in death by her brother, father and mother, her beloved sister-in-law Sonja Atkinson, and her nephew Tommy Atkinson. She is survived by her daughters Tanny Vlcan (Pattee), Dandee Pattee, her loving companion Damien "Danny" Derda, her niece, Didi Atkinson, her dedicated granddaughter Alexandria Maben, and her grandson Vince Vlcan. All donations in her memory can be made to the Casper Humane Society.
