Samuel Dowe Harward, 86, a retired computer programmer and homebuilder went to walk and talk with Jesus on December 16, 2018. Private Memorial: 10 A.M. at Highland Cemetery in Casper, WY. Officiating will be the Rev. Daniel Hawker of Sheridan, WY. Survivors: His wife of 37 years, Catherine (Kitty) Ann Kemmerer Harward , daughter Ronda Stanton (Monty) of Sheridan, WY, son Kenneth Harward of McKinney, TX, sister Alletha Barnett of North Richland Hills, TX, and brother Lowell Harward of Richland Hills, TX. Five grandchildren: Samuel Paul Albers, Rex Albers (Amy), Katherine Dean (Joseph), and Hillary Bynum (Josh). Three great-grandchildren: Semiah Dean, Shiloh Dean, and Mckenna Fuller. Sam was born June 24, 1932, in Fort Worth, TX to Mattie Rosa Harward and John D. Harward. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vanna Joyce and older brother Daniel Harward. Throughout his life, Sam live mostly in Texas and Wyoming. Sam began his career as a computer programmer and performed programming services for General Dynamics, Bosco Fasteners, Price Waterhouse and Pier One Imports. After retiring from programming, Sam built custom homes in Weatherford, Texas for many years. Throughout his life, Sam was involved in church ministry, working with youth, teaching Sunday School and as a member of church choirs. In the 60's and 70's Sam served as a Senior Commander in the Royal Rangers, a Christ-centered boys group, where he selflessly gave his time to introduce young boys to Christ, and teach them outdoor skills. Sam later worked side-by-side with wife Catherine (Kitty) for many years in children's ministries at the churches they attended. They also taught Bible Study at a transitional facility for inmates. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Child Hope where they support three children on a monthly basis.
