S. Ray Faust, Jr. Casper, Wyoming June 10, 1921 July 25, 2014 S. Ray Faust, Jr. passed away on Friday July 25, 2014 in Casper, WY with his wife Bette by his side. Ray was born on June 10, 1921 in Bobo, Mississippi to Samuel Ray and Sibyl Wilkinson Faust. He attended Mississippi State University until joining the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II. After the War, Ray graduated from MSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Ray then went to work for United Airlines in San Francisco. There, he met Bette Ruth Mau and they were married at Carmel-By-The Sea, CA in 1947. He then went to work as a geophysicist for Mobil Oil and was with the company for 40 years. After retiring in Casper, Ray pursued his love for golf and gardening. He was an active member of the Wyoming Geophysical Association. Ray was dearly love and highly respected a by all that knew him. Though he left his native Mississippi 70 years ago, he always remained a southern gentleman. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Francis. He is survived by his wife Bette of 67 years, his two daughters Susan Lavedan (Pierre) and Pamela Kennedy (Bob), three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and his younger brother Rowland W. Faust. A mass in celebration of Ray's life will be held Wed. July 30th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. At 1:00 pm Ray will be laid to rest with military honors at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray's name to the St. Anthony Tri-Parish School in Casper, WY.
