Sally Anne (Lloyd) Whetham was born March 18, 1951 to J.R. (Bob) and Wilma (Willie) Lloyd in Casper Wyoming, the fourth of five children.
Sally grew up on the family’s ranches near Bill (Antelope Creek Ranch) and Dubois (Triangle C Ranch). She attended the Coal Mine School on the Haefele Ranch near Bill, Dubois schools, and graduated with the class of 1969 from Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander.
Sally made her home in Jackson following her graduation. There, she formed her band “Teton Thunder” with three talented musicians. She toured the US and Canada with her band. Sal had a very beautiful, unique voice and was a self-taught guitarist from her youth. She and her Momma often sang together in beautiful harmony.
In 1979 Sally had her son, Daniel Patrick Whetham, whom she cherished and was very proud of. Sally moved to Casper in 1990 and made her home there until her passing, September 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving, devoted family.
Sal was a well-read wordsmith and very clever in writing prose. She had an amazing vocabulary; few could compete with her at Scrabble. She enjoyed playing cards and other games with her grandson, Connor, her sisters, and friends. Sally loved getting together with her “Friday Night Girls” each week for dinner and games.
Her incredible sense of humor, quick wit, and unending kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She often said toward the end, that she knew she was loved; as she truly was.
Sally is survived by her son, Dan Whetham, his wife Audrey, and her beloved grandson, Connor Whetham. Sisters, Sherry (John) Cooper, Mary (Tom) Lozier, Peggy (Dunkie) Bagner, and her brother Bob (Kim) Lloyd.
