Sally Romero

Sally Romero of Casper passed away peacefully January 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Soledad "Sally" Albino Marticio was born on April 12, 1928 to Gregorio and Ciriaca Marticio in the Philippines. Sally moved to Casper with her husband, John Manning in 1951. They were married until his death in 1954. Sally married Luis Romero in 1961, a union that ended with Luis' death in 1990. Sally was a housekeeping supervisor at Wyoming Medical Center, where she worked for 30 years. Sally and Luis raised eight children. She most enjoyed the times when all the family was together enjoying her food prepared with love! Her greeting was always, "Did you eat" or "Are you hungry"? Besides being a proud mother, Sally loved to fish, garden, and gamble. Sally was always on the move whether setting tables or walking during her time at Garden Square or heading out to drop a nickel or two in the slot machines. She met her challenges with zeal and lived a full & happy life. She will be missed by her family & many friends. Sally was preceded in death by her first husband, John Manning and 2nd husband, Luis Romero, her parents, brothers, Spinio and Barolito, son, Stephen, daughter-in-law, Tammy Romero and great granddaughter Leah Ponce. She is survived by her children Raymond (Merly) Holoman, Sue (Don) Thorne, John (Henrietta) Manning, Jack (Debbie) Manning, Cynthia (Vince) Mockensturm, David (LaVonne) Romero and Karen (Charlie) Unangst . Sally was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, She is also survived by her brother, Antonio, sisters, Josefina, Elina, Trinedad, and Cricencia & many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 5-8 pm @ Bustards Funeral Home. Funeral services to be held Wed January 25, 2017 @ 1:00. Internment at Oregon Trails State Veterans Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with Luis.
