Services for Ruth A. Hutton will be held at a later date. Mrs. Hutton, 85, died November 2, 2010 at Central Wyoming Hospice. She was born December 12, 1925 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Dr. Edward F. and Mary (Bagg) Adolph. She attended schools in Rochester, NY, Cambridge and Wellesley, MA. She graduated from the University of Colorado and did graduate study at the University of Wyoming. Upon graduation she married Charles C. Hutton and they moved to Casper, WY. When her children were young she was active in A.A.U.W., St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Southridge School PTA and Vesta Extension Club. After her children went to school, she became a substitute teacher from 1968-1975. She especially loved teaching others about western American history. She then worked for USGS/MMS as an oil and gas accountant until the agency moved to Denver. As a senior citizen, she volunteered in many activities under the RSVP program, taught defensive driving to other seniors as well as teaching adults through Literacy Volunteers of American. But what she enjoyed most was pursuing her interest in history through OCTA (Oregon California Trails Association). Mrs. Hutton loved to dance and made many trips out of town to attend dances. Among some of the other activities she enjoyed were gardening and traveling. Quieter times found her playing bridge, cheering for the Denver Bronco, sewing or collecting stamps. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James (Joanne) Robinson, her son, Douglas of Montana, sister, Jean Macpherson of Texas and brother, Carl Adolph of Murrieta, CA and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Edward F. Adolph and her husband, Charles C. Hutton preceded her in death.
