Ruth Bon

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Ruth Ardell Bon passed away peacefully and went home to her beloved Lord Jesus on Thursday, July 7th, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 63 years; five of her children: Andrea, Stephen, Richard, Linda, and Michael; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her brother Harold Francis, and other family and friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Alice Perdue, and infant daughter Carol Kay. Ruth was born in the small town of Burr Oak, Kansas on April 25, 1932 to Claron and Anna Francis. She moved to Casper as a teenager, graduating from NCHS and Casper College. For a short time she was a 6th grade elementary teacher. In 1952, Ruth became Miss Wyoming and represented the state with grace and beauty. Then in 1953 she married Bill Bon, the love of her life. She counted it pure joy to spend her days as a wife, mother, homemaker, and Christian. She was active with her church, teaching Sunday school, serving on the alter guild, participating in the prayer circle and bible study. She was always willing to help others and volunteered with Hospice, Service League, and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and skiing, participating in gourmet and bridge clubs, and many other civic and social functions, and had many adventurous vacations. A funeral service will be held in Casper, Wyoming, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Saturday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be given in her memory to Meals on Wheels, St. Mark's Church, or a charity of your choice. Ruth will be missed by many; she lit up any room she entered. Regarding her passing she wrote, "Remember me with joy - not sorrow." "For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2 Corinthians 5:1
