Ronnie Ray Broughton, 63, returned to his heavenly home on April 9, 2019 after a struggle with liver cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Ronnie was born to the late Bobby Ray Broughton and Dorothy Gayle Broughton-Slade, in Hopewell, VA on November 19, 1955. He joined the United States Airforce in September of 1975 and spent almost 10 years working as security police. The remainder of his military career was spent in the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard with various careers from medical logistics to chaplain's assistant. Ronnie retired with full honors from the military at the age of 57 as a staff sergeant E-6. After retiring from the military, he found his true passion when he became pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse church in Casper, WY. This was some of the best years of his life. He not only had a passion for truth and the gospel, pure and simple, he had a pastor's heart and a love for people's souls. Being a transplant from Virginia, he brought with him his southern personality and humor. When asked a question he was not quick to respond, however, you knew his answer was going to be wise because of the thought he put into it. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he stayed the course, finished his race, and has now gained his eternal reward. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his daughters Amy Bernagozzi, Bethany Faught, Crystal Morean, Christina Broughton and Cassandra Thornton; his step-sons David Washechek and Brian Washechek; his many grandchildren; and his brothers, Donnie Broughton, Jerry Broughton and Anthony Broughton. He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Broughton. Family and friends are welcome to join us in celebrating Ronnie's homecoming. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12th at 11am in the chapel at the Oregon Trail Cemetery in Evansville, WY.
