Ronald Dudley 71, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Wyoming Medical Center from complications of COPD, surrounded by his family. Ron was born on July 8, 1940, in Buies Creek, NC, to Ruby West and Lonnie Gregory. Ron was raised by Dewey and Ruby Dudley. He was educated in North Carolina and attended Princess Ann High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ron and his dad traveled to Wyoming by train in 1948, where his dad found work on Kortes Dam. His mother joined them and they stayed in Wyoming until the dam was completed, at which time they then returned to North Carolina. Ron came back to Wyoming with his family in 1956, and spent the rest of his life in the Casper area. Ron met his wife Bonnie at a dance at the North Casper Club House and they were married January 9, 1960. They had four sons: Keith, Korey, Karl, and Kurtis. Ron worked at a variety of jobs until he joined the pipefitters union in 1967, and traveled all over the country working on pipelines including the Alaskan Pipeline; Prudhoe Bay, Alaska; and in Saudi Arabia. Later Ron worked at different construction jobs as an oiler and mechanic on heavy equipment. He loved to roller skate and went skating with his grandkids every Thursday when he was working in a gold mine near Las Vegas, NV. He loved to dance to all the 50's rock-n-roll music. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids and teaching them how to shoot a BB gun and sitting on his deck watching the wildlife. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sherrill, and sister Brenda. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Keith (Jessica), Korey, Karl (Tracey), Kurtis (Brandy), 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his 99 year old mother-in-law, Evelyn Friesen, all of Evansville and Casper, and his sister Lee of Chesapeake, VA. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard Funeral Home and memorial services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, 2020 S. Jefferson at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
