Private First Class Ronald Karl Dickerson (Rauch) United States Army was born Feb 3, 1948 in Wurzburg, Germany. Ron, his Mother Anna Maria Rauch, and Brother Eugen Joseph Rauch all traveled to American to make a better life after leaving Europe sometime in the 1950's. It is in Massachusetts where our family received the Dickerson name and became citizens of the United States of America. Ron graduated High School from Laughbon High School in Washington State 1967 as an athlete he wrestled and ran track. Ron went straight into the military after graduating high school but not before meeting his true love and would be wife Jacqueline Sue Clark on July 4, 1967. Ron served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He worked on equipment and machinery that was being destroyed in Vietnam. Gene served 2 tours in Vietnam so that Ron, his little brother wouldn't see action. While serving in the military Ron learned mechanics and that became a very large part of his hobbies and career to follow. Ron and Jackie went on to have their first son Christopher Dale Dec 12, 1974 and bought their first home in Westminster, CO soon after. Westminster would be where Ron, Jackie and Chris would grow as a family and enjoy each moment. Ron and Jackie proudly welcomed their second son Timothy James to the Dickerson family on Sept 4, 1979. As a family they enjoyed concerts like the Rolling Stones, Crosby Stills Nash and Moody Blues, camping on the property in Westcliffe, hiking Red Rocks or in Idaho Springs, working on go-carts bikes or cars, taking road trips all over, but most of all spending time together as a family. Ron enjoyed working on cars in any free time he had, and almost always it was a Chevy. Ron had such a collection throughout the years but will always be remembered for his love of the Vega and Monza. Ron always enjoyed travelling throughout the world but had a fondness for the Southwest Region of the US, in particularly the 4 corners region. Ron used to travel to the 4 corners with anyone or no-one. His favorite place was John's Canyon near Mexican hat. Here Ron found peace and solitude, "the most peaceful place, when I needed to escape" Ron. Ronnie also enjoyed time with his friends, not only working on cars or buses, but playing foosball with his best friend Don Makita, helping out Jay on the farm, getting tips from Dale (even though he had "Stangs"), and cheering on the Broncos with JJ(James Jordan). Ron always had a passion for knowledge, writing and poetry. He has many of pages of unpublished poetry, writing, and thoughts. He looked beyond the cover and read below the surface of hundreds of books. Ron believed in others and truly helped in any way he could. Ron adored his Mother, Anna. Every chance Ron had he would spend time with her. Ron and his brother Eugene always stayed close. Ron always looked up to Gene as his Mentor and his hero. Gene and Ron used to wrestle each other to get better, or just to have a reason to argue who was better. Gene moved to Colorado after each of them had families. There was always time for family with Ron. Ron Enjoyed Being an uncle as much as a Father. Ron was close with his nephew Karl. Ron taught Karl everything he could about cars and life. Ron loved his nieces Maria and Rosina. Ron was always there to support them in their own dreams and achievements; he would do anything for the three of them, as if they were his own. Ron was a supporting, loving, stern, fun-loving, adventure having Pop. The time he spent with his 2 sons were unforgettable. He built them a train set for endless days of fun, took Chris, Tim and Jackie on road trips across the country, went camping, hiking, skiing, and loved all the family dogs they had over time. Ron loved his Son's with all he had. From dealing with boys getting multiple injuries and cars being crashed (by both boys) to enjoying Chris' football games or Tim's wrestling tournaments, Ron supported his Boy's. After separation from Jackie, and the boys and finishing school, Ron went on to enjoy his life. He retired from the RTD and did small odd jobs for a while. He found a renewed love in motorcycles and combined with his love for dogs. Ron traveled about with his dog Anu throughout the country on the back of his motorcycles. Ron met Debbie Fancher in 1996 and she was his companion, friend, and shared a love for each other no one else could understand. Debbie and Ron moved to Edgerton, Wyoming in 2004 where Ron fully retired from work. Ron enjoyed his car, movie, book and music collection as well as his passion for adventure. Ron loved his solitude but here he was able to be close to his Nephew, and His Brother soon moved to Wyoming as well. Ron enjoyed his retirement while visiting his Mom and grandchildren in Colorado on a monthly basis. He loved being near his Grandchildren Acacia, Blake, and Caiden. He would sit and just watch the children play for hours. Ron loved having talks with his Grandkids. Being a Grandpa was so rewarding for him, he always wanted to be close to his grand children as he was close to his Opa, Karl Rauch. Ron was always so grateful for his family. True freedom was his wish. Our hearts are always with you on this new journey. You are dearly loved.
