Ronald Day

September 27, 1945 — May 26, 2015

Ronald H. Day, age 69, passed away early Tuesday morning on May 26, 2015. He transitioned peacefully at a family home, after a long battle with lung disease. He fought through this past year to live as long as he could to be with his family. His first priority was always family and he never hesitated to show his love. Ronald was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 27, 1945 to Pauline and Russell Day. He lived there until he accepted a job as a professor at Chadron State College in 1975. He met the love of his life, Randy Day, in 1966. They were married in Indianapolis, IN on June 3, 1967. They were married for 43 years, until Randy passed away in early 2011. Ronald received a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 1968 and a Masters in Arts from Ball State University in 1970. He taught in Indianapolis for many years before his 4 years at Chadron State University. They had 2 children while in Chadron, NE. Ronald and his family moved to Casper, WY in 1979 so he could teach drafting and engineering classes at Casper College for the next 23 years. They had 2 more children in Casper. The last child passed away just shy of 2 years old due to a complication in a heart surgery. Ronald had many hobbies including fishing, camping, stamp & coin collecting, stain glass and gardening. Favorite family memories were camping and fishing at various Wyoming lakes. Ronald will be dearly missed by many. He was a quiet person who would open up to close friends and family. He loved taking the time to make others happy with his thoughtful ways. Ronald is survived by daughter & son-in-law Casey & Chris Rislov of Casper, WY; son Kirk Day of Mill Valley, CA; daughter & son-in-law Carly & Jason Sullivan of Casper, WY. Sister Nancy Cochran and family of San Antonio, Texas, Grandchildren Kylie Sullivan, Alex & Asher Rislov of Casper, WY. Ronald's memorial service will be a private ceremony.
