Roger Eugene Cook, Sr. Obituary
Services for Roger Eugene Cook, Sr. will be held on June 7th, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at First Christian Church officiated by Pastor Bryan Elliott with Military Honors at the Oregon Trail Veteran’s Cemetery immediately following. Mr. Cook passed away April 4th, 2024. He was born December 9th, 1931, in Macon, Missouri. He is the son of Frank Merle Cook and Iva Mae (Stewart) Cook. He was raised in Macon, MO graduating from Macon High School in 1949, and attended Northeast State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO.
Roger joined the U.S. Air Force on January 11, 1951. He was discharged receiving an Honorable Discharge and a Good Conduct Medal on January 17, 1955, after serving 4 years. He married Lorna Mae Mead December 22, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas.
He returned to Macon to manage his parents dry cleaning business from 1955-1959. He moved to Concordia, KS traveling as a salesman for Sheridan-Clayton Paper Co. from May 1959 to July 1960. Roger Moved to Council Bluffs, IA working for Dietrick-Field Co. in Omaha, NE. He later moved to Casper, WY July 1963. He traveled the Rocky Mountain States as an outside salesman, later working for Big Smith Mfg. Co. until 1987, when he retired.
He was a Master Mason in Pathfinder Lodge 42; Scottish Rite Free Masonry Bodies, Cheyenne, WY; Korein Shrine Temple, Rawlins, WY; Shrine Club and T-Patrol Unit; Elks Lodge 1353; and American Legion Post 2 of Casper.
He enjoyed being a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Information Desk putting in over 6,000 hours. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and restoring furniture. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren going for walks, woodworking, going to the lake, and putting them to work with tasks around the house.
Survivors include, Roger Cook, Jr. and wife Colleen Cook of Alpine, WY; Blake Cook, of St Petersburg, FL; Amy Wolfe of Casper, WY; Matthew Cook and wife Marla Cook of Highlands Ranch, CO; 10 grandchildren, Craig Cook, Christopher Cook, and Miranda Goodman of Salt Lake City, UT area; Clint Wolfe, Joshua Wolfe, Leigh Ann Brite, and Lisa Grayson of Casper, WY; Megan Jost , McKenna Duty, and Eric Cook of Highlands Ranch, CO; 17 great grandchildren, Skyler Cook, Hylee Cook, Boston Cook, Axel Cook, Baylee Goodman, Hadley Goodman, Dax Goodman, Brecken Wolfe, Nolan Wolfe, Benjamin Wolfe, Bailey Wolfe, Kyra Lewallen, Jarrin Lewallen, Cayden Grayson, Devyn Grayson, Amelia Duty and Bennett Duty; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Eldon Cook, sister, Shirley Endictor.
Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at First Christian Church, 520 CY Ave, Casper, WY.Friday, June 7, 2024
