His mother passed away when the boys were teenagers. His father raised the boys to be faithful, hardworking spouses and men. Roger spent some of his summers with his uncles at their ranch in the Pedro Mt. area. He went to McKinley school and graduated from NCHS. He loved fast cars and working on them when he was younger. He served in the Army Reserves and went to work for the Post Office upon his discharge. He married Kay Young on December 21, 1960. He spent his life dedicated to the dogs he loved, having showed in Confirmation and Obedience, having finished many champions and obedience titles with their Norwegian Elkhounds, Pharaoh Hounds and Siberian Huskies. He spent many winters dog sledding, only stopping a couple of years ago. Along with his wife, they taught obedience classes for the Central Wyoming Kennel Club for over 25 years. Later in his life, he enjoyed doing agility with his Husky, Juneau. He also had participated in lure coursing with his Pharaoh Hounds, earning many titles and awards. He and Kay also put on weight pulls for over 25 years, meeting lots of new friends from the surrounding areas. All but one of their huskies were rescues. Together, Roger and Kay enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, rock hunting and 4-wheeling. He was a lifetime member of the Central Wyoming Kennel Club and the International Weight Pull Association. He is survived by his brother John and his wife Marie, a nephew Dan and his wife Christine and their sons Paul and Ethan, a niece Kim and husband Chris Daniels and sons Niko and Zane Mammon and his wife of 56 years and their six dogs.
