Robert Anthony Schaff, age 78, passed away January 3, 2024, at Lifecare Center of Casper in Wyoming. He was born on February 16, 1945, in Dickinson, North Dakota to Antone and Barbara (Daum) Schaff. Dedication to his family and job as a master plumber played a significant role in shaping his life and leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Throughout high school at Bowman High School in North Dakota, he excelled academically while actively participating in football, wrestling, and track events. In 1963, he graduated from Bowman High School before attending Dickinson State University. During his time at university, he continued exploring his passion for wrestling.
Robert Anthony Schaff also served honorably as a member of the United States Army from October 15, 1964, until August 26, 1966. His military service symbolizes his deep sense of duty towards his country.
He met Deanna and they married on June 19, 1971. Deanna and Bob had two boys, Monte and Dean, within 19 months of each other and the young family moved to the Fritton farm in eastern Colorado to raise their family, farm, and plumb.
In Colorado, Robert had the honor of plumbing the first McDonald's restaurant in Denver. His expertise and skill were evident throughout his career as he continued to provide exceptional plumbing services while simultaneously farming his family's land in Cheyenne Wells. This level of hard work and commitment exemplified Robert's character throughout his life.
After moving to Casper in 2002, Robert continued to serve both the community and his craft with unwavering dedication. He was known for his impeccable workmanship and attention to detail, qualities that earned him the respect and trust of countless individuals in need of his services.
In addition to being a highly skilled plumber, Robert took great pride in pursuing various interests throughout his life. He possessed an exceptional talent for woodworking and enjoyed crafting intricate pieces. Robert also had a passion for sports, particularly supporting the Broncos and the Yankees from afar.
To celebrate the life of Robert Anthony Schaff, friends and family will gather for a Rosary Prayer Service at 1:00 PM on January 12, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church located at 1401 CY Ave, Casper, Wyoming. The memorial mass will begin after the Rosary at 1:30 PM. Following the services, military honors will be held at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
Robert will be remembered as loving father and grandfather and a dedicated professional who took pride in his work as a master plumber and tending the family farm. Beyond his accomplishments in his career, he leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and genuine camaraderie. His warm smile and willingness to lend a helping hand will be cherished and greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two sons, Monte (Trisha) Schaff and Dean (Jennifer) Schaff, as well as his grandchildren, Eric Lagergren, Alyssa (Steven) Schall, Austin (Kendra) Schaff, Anthony Schaff, and Zachary (Lynn) Schaff. He is survived by siblings, Dennis (Donna) Schaff, Terry (Penny) Schaff, John (Pat) Schaff, Connie (Sherman) Riedlinger, Bruce Schaff (Gelene Lorentzen), and Patty Schaff.
He is preceded in death by parents, and his beloved wife Deanna, who passed away August of 2023.
