Robert Edward Riley, 85 passed away November 21, 2010 at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born July 16, 1925 in Gering, Nebraska, to Frank B. Riley and Lillian Rhodes Riley. He was the second to the oldest of four siblings, which included his brother Jack, and his sisters Della and Patricia. Bob grew up in Gering and Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, and at 12 years old lost his father to an accident. Like his brother Jack, Bob went to work early to help with his family. Bob went on to meet Bernice Jane Terrell of Torrington, Wyoming. They were married February 6, 1954 in Cheyenne Wyoming and moved to Casper later that year. Bob worked for White Ditching Company as a Heavy Equipment Operator until an injury in 1967 ended this line of work. To the benefit of the Natrona County School District he was employed as the Head Custodian of Willard Elementary School along with driving bus. Bob was well loved by the children and was known as the Best School Bus Driver ever. He retired from the School District in 1989. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling, refinishing furniture and keeping his cars in showroom condition. He was a member of the Casper Kiwanis, the Maverick Square Dance Club, and a member and deacon at First Christian Church. He is survived by sisters Della and Patricia; a son Robert Predmore and a daughter Barbara Bower from a previous marriage. The Love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Bernice; son Charles and daughter-in-law Katherine, their sons Dylan and Ian of Snohomish, Washington; and daughter Diane Good and son-in-law David Good, their children Jillian and husband Patrick Currie, their children Ethan & Eli of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Jacob Good and wife, Cynthia, their children Sophia & Sebastian, currently stationed at Lakenheath Air Force Base, England. Robert E. Riley will be well remembered as a loving husband and father, as a friend and with a big heart to lend a helping hand. His big smile, ready laughter and affection for people endeared him to others. He will be well remembered as "salt of the earth" and always, at his core, a gentleman and will be in our hearts filled with loving memories. "All that we can know about those we have loved and lost is that they would wish us to remember them with a more intensified realization of their reality.
