Robert Alan John

Robert Alan John (BJ) passed away on April 04, 2023 in his home, in Mills, Wyoming, after a short battle with cancer.

Robert was born April 28, 1958 in Menomonie, WI, the son of LeRoy and Isabelle (Baerwald) John.  Later, his family moved to Neillsville WI where Robert graduated from High School in 1977.  He was very active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the highest honors as an Eagle Scout.  For several summers, he worked as a Boy Scout Counselor at Camp Phillips Scout Camp in Northern WI. 

Upon graduating from High School, Robert continued his education at University of WI Stout earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management with a minor in Accounting. 

After graduating from college, he worked at various oilfield jobs in Wyoming and Oklahoma, and in gold mines in Nevada. He moved to Wyoming in the early 80’s, and in 1992, he founded his own concrete business “United Gravel”, in Casper Wyoming, where he remained until his death.

His hobbies included gold panning, robotics, hunting, and helping his friends with their many projects.  He will be missed by his family, friends, and hunting buddies.

He is survived by siblings David (Jocelyn) John, Nancy (Bob) Flye, Lucinda John, William (Terri) John, a niece, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
