Robert Hicks

Robert Charles Hicks, Jr., age 74, of Midwest, passed away November 21, 2016 at his home. He was born September 1, 1942 in Leesburg, Florida, to Robert C. Hicks, Sr. and Maude Helen Hart Hicks. He graduated from Natrona County High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On March 27, 1960 he married Loraine "Tootie" A. Baxter. Together they made their home in Florida, eventually moving back to Wyoming in 1978. Robert retired from the Glenrock Coal Mine in 1999, where he was a mechanic for many years. Shortly after he retired, he lost the love of his life, Loraine. Robert found love again and married Connie Glasgow. He had a passion for old cars, which he passed on to his three sons. He enjoyed watching sports, his favorites being NASCAR and football. He was a loyal Florida Gators and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Robert was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He found his greatest joy being around his family. He dearly loved and was very proud of all of his grandchildren. His greatest attribute was the love he had for his family. Robert is survived by his wife, Connie Hicks, of Midwest; sons, Robert C. (Kelly) Hicks III, Kenneth E. (Donna) Hicks, and Jonathon W. (Darlene) Hicks; daughter Deborah (Mike)Trujillo; nine grandchildren, Robert, Racheal, Sandra, Sara, Michael, Kyle, Cameron, Elizabeth, and Catherine; and eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way. He also leaves behind eight brothers and sisters, Beth (Billy) Collins, Ron (Teresa) Hicks, Barbara (Eddie) Turner, Fred (Phyllis) Hicks, David (Debbie) Hicks, Suzanne Wink, and Daniel (Carolyn) Hicks; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loraine; and sister, Sandra Greenwood. A celebration of his life with military honors will be held at 1PM, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Visitation will be in the West Chapel from 8AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
