It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a cherished husband, devoted father, and pillar of our community, Robert William Forsberg. Bob passed away Tuesday, May the 7th, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. Bob's life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering dedication to family, country, and the well-being of others.
On May 4th, 1977, Robert William Forsberg was born in Casper Wyoming to Douglas L. and Deborah A Forsberg. Bob came to earth with a kind spirit and a heart filled with compassion.
Bob's greatest joy in life was found in the loving embrace of his family. He shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Alisha. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, adventure, and countless cherished memories. The very best part of Bob’s life was his family. When he met Alisha, he was gifted not only with the love of his life, but also two wonderful sons whom he loved dearly. It wasn't long after becoming a fast family of four that they welcomed their daughter Cathron in July of 2008. It was quite obvious that being a father and especially having a daughter was a job that Bob took very seriously and it was clear by everything that he did throughout the nearly 16 years he spent tenderly raising and influencing their lives. The family was made official when Alisha and Bob married on August 6th, 2010. As a father, Bob's love knew no bounds. He took immense pride in nurturing and guiding his children, Cate, Kellen, and Chris, instilling in them the values of integrity, resilience, and kindness. His unconditional love and unwavering encouragement served as a guiding light, empowering his children to pursue their dreams and embrace life's challenges with courage and determination. Whether it was a new business venture, remodeling their homes, or hauling horses to a sorting, Bob was there with his memorable smile and words of encouragement. His love for his family was clear in everything that he did, always putting them first and making them and everyone else around him feel loved and cared for.
Beyond his role as a devoted family man, Bob was a patriot at heart, with a deep love for our country and all that being an American stood for. You cannot mention Bob without acknowledging how deeply he loved America.
Bob grew up and spent his life here in Casper Wyoming and committed himself to making the community and the world a better place.
Throughout his life, it was rare for Bob to meet a stranger. Whether on a job, at the golf course, or even at the gas station down the road, he was a friend to all. He would quite literally give you the shirt from his back or give you any other thing you might need. A sounding board for those around him as well, with a vibrant view of life and the very best advice.
Those lucky enough to work closely with Bob got to witness his love for his wife, Alisha, firsthand. You could always find him supporting her in every possible way. From loading up horses, accompanying and helping with community events, or just popping into her office for a quick visit. It was never a question how much he loved her and the life that they had created.
If the sun was shining, you could probably find Bob on a golf course as golf was quite possibly his favorite pastime, and his name and face was known to those at the local course. He loved the game of golf. Alisha has said that “Bob golfs and I ride horses.” However his love of the course didn't cast a single shadow upon the love of their horses. He spent a lot of time in the barn and took their care rather seriously. Spending plenty of nights enjoying a beer and having late night conversations with the horses. Wherever Bob was, you were bound to find at least one of his beloved dogs, but probably at least two, or maybe even more. He was an animal lover through and through.
Beyond being friends with nearly everyone he met, Bob kept a circle of friends that became more like brothers to him throughout his life. Some of which spent countless hours, days and weeks fighting alongside him during his 10 month Cancer journey. He is survived by his Gus Benardis, Kevin Willis, Dennis Eades, Rex Thronburg, Brad Long, Paul Hack, Mike Rone, Danny Moser, Mark Sakovich, and countless others who he loved dearly. He also leaves behind his loving wife, Alisha, daughter Cate, sons Kellen Nighswonger(Sydney Rizzi) Chris Nighswonger (Ellyce Brownell) His parents, Douglas and Deborah Forsberg, Grandmother Darlene M. Forsberg, Brother Danny Forsberg, Aunts and uncles Dennis Eades, Jeri Durdahl, Dawn Lindell, Rocky and Lisa Eades and all who were lucky enough to call him friend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert W. Forsberg, William H. Eades, Jeanine B. Ivy.
Though Bob may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire us to live our lives with purpose and compassion.
In honoring Bob's memory, let us take comfort in the knowledge that he changed the world and his life made it a much better place. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made in Bob’s honor to the Casper Humane Society.
Rest in peace, dear Bob. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. We bid you farewell..and as you loved to say, Boy howdy!
