Robert (Bob) Elmer Faunce, 87, of Glenrock, died January 22, 2011 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Glenrock Cemetery in Glenrock, Wyoming with Pastor Cleaties Jeffcoat officiating. Viewing will be from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by the Wyoming Army National Guard. He was born October 26, 1923 in El Dorado, Kansas the son of Robert Earl Faunce and Flossie Forest (Hogaboon) Faunce. Mr. Faunce has resided in Glenrock, WY since 1952. He served his country as a Machine Gunner in World War II in campaigns in Northern France, The Rhineland and Central Europe. He enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren with magic tricks and always looked forward to their visits. He also liked to hunt and fish when he was able and would travel to Kansas, where he grew up, to fish for catfish. Mr. Faunce was a member of VFW Post 9439 and a 50 year member of Laborers Union Local 1271. He married Vautress Maxine Rickman on July 26, 1945. Mrs. Faunce passed on August 8, 2010 after having recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Earline Earlich, brothers, Alexander, Odis, Luther and grandson, Travis Faunce. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Bill, Virgil, Floyd, Rose Talkington, Carrie Griffith; 6 children, John Faunce (Mary Anne), Casper, WY, Bob Faunce (Boots) Glenrock WY, Rod Faunce (Blanche), Glenrock WY, Nancy Norman (Dave), Orofino, Id, Vickie Sturlin (Gene), Buffalo WY, and Sue Faunce (Wayne Dewees). Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VFW Post 9439 in Casper.
