Robert "Bob" Ems was born on May 3, 1924 in Gillette, WY to James Edward and Fanchon Ems. He grew up in the Savageton Community and graduated from Campbell County High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was honorably discharged in December, 1946. He married Doris Peterson in 1958 and them moved to Laramie, WY. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1962 and then moved to Casper, Wyoming. After being employed as a computer programmer, pipe fitter, and diesel mechanic, he retired in June of 1986. Bob had an amazing ability to fix and repair most anything that was put in front of him. He always enjoyed tinkering in his shop and helping people in the neighborhood. Bob is survived by his wife, Doris Ems, a brother, a daughter, four grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, his parents, and two sisters.
