Richard Lee Wagner Casper, Wyoming July 20, 1928-January 14, 2015 Long time Casper resident Richard Lee Wagner passed away peacefully Thursday, January 14, 2015 at Central Wyoming Hospice at the age of 87. Dick was born in Hornell, New York on July 20, 1928. He graduated from Bowling Green University in Toledo, Ohio, in 1950 with a degree in geology and a minor in mathematics. In 1953 Dick moved to Casper where he enjoyed an active career as a petroleum geologist working for, among others, Ray Chorney, Fred Goodstein, Pacific Enterprises and Weatherford. Dick was a member of the Wyoming Geological Association and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists for over 60 years. He married Marilyn Dymond on September 21, 1978 and was happily married for over 36 years. Dick , Marilyn, and family resided in Jackson Hole and Denver, CO prior to returning to Casper. Dick is an elder in the Presbyterian Church; he was a true lover of dogs and volunteered at the Dumb Friends League walking animals in the shelter, additionally he was a volunteer and assisted people who struggled with poverty. Dick was a passionate historian, avid tennis player, water skier, downhill skier, and reader. Dick particularly enjoyed his summers spent with family at Alcova Lake. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marilyn; son, Dr. Philip (Bert) Wagner and his wife Lisa; and his daughters, Nancy and Willow Dymond Wagner; step-daughters, Anneliese Pruitt and Tara Dymond Wagner; six granddaughters Jessi Wagner, Ashlee Wagner, Erin Wagner, Jordan Christopulos, Zoe Christopulos, Shannon Wagner Brown and her husband John Brown; great granddaughter, Sydney Brown, and grandson Bryce Richard Wurtz. He is also survived by his first wife, Eloise McKee, of Casper. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on January 30, 2016 at 10:00 am. Remembrances may be sent to Veterans of Foreign Wars (Casper) or Friends of Community Action Partnership of Natrona County to help the impoverished. Bustard's Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
