Mass of Christian Burial for Richard T. "Dick" Shuck, 87, will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church by Fr. Robert Fox. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Rite of Committal will be conducted at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Shuck peacefully went to be with the Lord March 11, 2011 surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 2, 1923 in Dieghton, Michigan to Mabel Kelly and Charles H. Shuck. He was the youngest of five boys. He completed high school in 1941 and attended Brigham Young University for one year before enlisting in the United States Army in 1942. He served three years as a 5th Grade Technician in the 10th Company 5th Regiment Infantry Division and fought in World War II. In 1945 he was honorably discharged. On September 1, 1950 he married the love of his life, Mary Dekelva in Salt Lake City. Together they had two children, a son and a daughter. He worked as a geological drafter for Marathon Oil Company and in 1967 transferred to Casper, Wyoming, where he continued with Marathon until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors, going to church and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to help another person. He was the kindest, most loving, unselfish person there ever was, and will be greatly missed. Survivors include one grandson, Justin G. McDaniel of Santa Fe, NM, one granddaughter, Deidre M. Henderson of Glenrock, WY and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, his wife, his son David M. Shock and his daughter, Linda J. McDaniel.
