Richard Niesen

Mr. Richard Niesen, 84, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Casper. He was born on March 28, 1933 in Sterling, Colorado to Gottlieb and Lydia Niesen. After graduating from Sterling High School, Richard married the love of his life, Barbara Gould in Casper on March 10, 1957. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing in April of this year. Richard was a mechanic in the transportation industry and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed coin collecting, puzzles and board games, working on cars, bowling and watching football - especially the Denver Broncos. He always looked forward to spending time with his friends at their "Coffee Club". In addition to his wife, Barbara, and his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elnora Schilling and Rose Niesen and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Niesen. Richard is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Niesen of Casper, Debbie Morshead and husband Chris of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Sandra Fullerton and husband Robert of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Shane and Shawn Patrick of Casper, Kyle and Ryan Fullerton of Phoenix, AZ and Nicole Morshead of Fort Mill, SC; three sisters, Carolyn Kerschner and husband Paul of Merino, Colorado, Bernice Schledwitz of Windsor, Colorado and Florence Fahlstedt of Sequim, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6-8pm at Bustard's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 1:00pm at Bustard's Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Everyone is invited to join the family following the interment for a reception at the First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 302 E 2nd St, Casper, WY 82601.
