Richard Lewis (Rich) Moore, 73, of Casper, Wyo. passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from a 3-year battle with Lewy-Bodies Dementia. Rich was born on November 5, 1950, in Oklahoma City, OK to John Lewis Moore and Verda Rena Leke.
Rich’s family moved to Sterling Colorado when Rich was a young boy. His fondest memories were from growing up in a small community and attending class in their 1 room schoolhouse. After graduation, Rich moved to Boulder Colorado where he earned his degree from the University of Colorado.
In January of 1974, Rich struck out on his own to secure a future in Casper. One of his first stops was the Sage Club where he Met his wife to be, Debbie. Rich worked for Central Contractors while saving up to start his own company, High Plains Construction.
Rich and Debbie were united in marriage in Casper Wyo. on April14, 1984. Rich & Debbie were able to secure a beautiful home at the base of Casper Mountain where they shared their life together and raised their children, Kasie & Tyler. Rich’s lifelong dream of becoming a cattle rancher was fulfilled when he and friend, Davie Forbes, purchased “The Basket” northwest of Casper.
Rich is survived by wife, Debbliei (Debbie) Cureton-Moore. A daughter, Kasie Jo Hartl and her husband John Hartl,of Casper. A son, Tyler Lewis Moore and wife Tristina. of Casper. His grandchildren - Bryson Hartl, Kaya Hartl, Isaiah Williams, Taylen Schofield, Holden Hartl, Taren Hartl, and Rhaylinn’Rea Marie Moore of Casper. And one Great-Grandchild, Leland Williams also of Casper. A sister, Judy Moore-Robb of Stockton, CA. and a brother, Bob Moore and wife Dianna of Prescott Valley, AZ. He is also survived by several nephews & nieces, as well as many great nephews, great nieces, and family friends.
Rich is preceded in death by his parents, John & Verda Moore. And one grandson, Raistlin Terry and sister-in-law, Roberta Moore of Sterlin, Co.
The celebration of life will be held at the Shriners Temple, 1501 West 39th Street, Casper, Wyo. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 3pm.
