Richard "RD" DeMinck, of Douglas, WY was born July 20, 1958 in Ipswich, South Dakota then raised and educated in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota. RD started working at North Antelope Coal in Wyoming in 1984. After moving to Spearfish, South Dakota RD met the love of his life Taina Vodopich the couple then married in August of 1985. Together RD and Taina began life's journey. RD's life became even richer when they welcomed their sons, Kale and later Kyler to the family. He was the definition of a family man, he cherished every moment he had with his wife and boys. We learned from him what it meant to be unconditionally loved. In every adventure life took us on he was always right by our side to hold our hands or give an extra nudge when needed. RD passed his love of the outdoors on to his boys taking them camping and teaching them to fish and hunt. Our family also enjoyed many adventures traveling together. When Kale and Chelsea brought their son Keatan into the world, RD knew right then that life does not get any better than life as a grandpa. The two shared an unbreakable bond. RD fought a long, courageous battle against cancer. On October 3, 2016 this battle came to an end when he passed away with his family by his side as he had always been by ours. RD will forever be missed by his wife, Taina; sons, Kale (Chelsea) DeMinck and Kyler DeMinck; his grandson, Keatan DeMinck all of Douglas; sister, Dixie (Mitch) Skogen of Gillette, Wyoming; Brother, Alan (Jacque) DeMinck of Gillette. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Charles and Shirley DeMinck of Spearfish, South Dakota. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church in Douglas Wyoming at by Father Hill. Reception will be held following the service. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, South Dakota at a later date. RD was a humble man who loved with all of his being. We feel that to honor his life he would like nothing more than to help the smallest victims of cancer fight the mighty fight by donating to Jason's Friends, 340 W B St #101, Casper, WY 82601. Bustard's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
