Richard Burke

A celebration of life for Mr. Richard Eugene Burke, 73, of Casper, WY will be held at 2:30pm, on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Hope Church with Bert Eldridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:00am to 7:00pm, on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Richard passed away May 13, 2016 in Casper. Richard was born on April 7, 1943 in Oshkosh, NE to Elwanda Wentz and William Burke. When he was young his family moved to Casper where he went to school and graduated from Natrona County High School. After high school Richard learned to weld and built his own welding business; Burke Welding and Equipment. On October 2, 1992 he married Cynthia Ann Burke in Lafayette, Louisiana. The years they spent together they spent truly enjoying quality time together. Richard loved fishing, bird hunting, target practice, and reloading guns. He could build just about anything and enjoyed his motorcycles. Richard also much enjoyed taking his bride Cynthia for a twirl on the dance floor. Richard is survived by his mother, Elwanda Wentz of Casper, WY; his children, Kevin Burke, Randy Burke, Summer Jensen all of Casper, WY, Sherri Zimney of Maurice, LA, and Kay Broussard of Lafayette, LA; his brother, Willis Burke; sister, Caroline Burke also of Story, WY, as well as 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia; daughters, Stephanie Brown and Diane Burke; father, William Burke; grandsons, Heath Haegle and Devin Burke; as well as his brother; Shannon Burke. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Casper Humane society or Central Wyoming Hospice.
