Richard Bennett

No services are planned for Richard "Dick" Otto Bennett. Casper native and resident Richard "Dick" Bennett passed away September 21st, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice. Dick was born July 9th, 1928 in Casper, Wyoming to Otto and Augusta Bennett. He attended Casper schools while growing up in Casper. He spent his last two years of high school in Roswell, New Mexico at the New Mexico Military Institute and graduated in 1946. He then attended the University of Wyoming obtaining a degree in engineering. He then served in the Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1952. He was also a Professional Land Surveyor. Upon returning to Casper, Dick began his career by working for the Wyoming Highway Department. He then went to work for Rissler and McMurry Company where he was a project engineer and then estimator for most of his career. While at Rissler and McMurry, Dick was a member of the AGC Board of Directors and served in all offices and as President in 1976 and then was a member of the National AGC where he served on several committees. During this time, he also worked on the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce Board. Dick was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Mason, Shrine, and Elks Club. He enjoyed skiing during his youth and also playing golf throughout his life. Dick married Barbara Asich in 1957 and they were married for 61 years until his death. They had one son Robert. They enjoyed life in Casper where they raised their son. They enjoyed sports and especially playing golf together. Later in life, Dick enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and watching them participate in athletic events. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow up. Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son Robert, and his grandchildren, Peter-John, Mary, and Bleu. He loved life and meeting and visiting with everyone. He loved going to his coffee group every day that he could and cherished the time with the people there. Dick was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions in Dick's name would be welcomed by the family to Central Wyoming Hospice or any charity of one's passion or choice.
