Retta Howe

June 12, 1937 — May 10, 2014

Retta Lavonne Howe was granted her angel wings on May 10th 2014 in Casper, Wyoming. Retta was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, and Aunt. She is survived by her husband, James Howe, 57 years of marriage, their son; Kevin and his wife Kathy, daughter; Kerry and her husband Ralph, daughter; Kimberly and her husband Terry. Grandchildren; Aubrey, Dustin, James, and step-granddaughter Christine. Retta (Lavonne as her family knew her) was born June 12, 1937, in Romulous Oklahoma to her parents Chester and (Lena) Peggy Satterfield. The oldest of 3 daughters, including Patricia (Debusk, deceased) and Claudia (Perkins). Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile and kinds words were her greeting to everyone she met. Although she was so tiny and frail, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved music of all kinds and played almost any instrument that was put in front of her. Genealogy was her true passion. There are too many years to count that she applied herself to learning whatever she could about the family she loved so much. Her favorite hobby was crocheting with her sister and made beautiful Afghans and throws. Her kind heart, compassion, and empathy for animals was beyond belief, from fuzzy kittens to cuddly puppies. Bless her heart, she would even rescue a little spider and take him outside instead of the alternative, squealing all the way out the door. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 16h at Highland Cemetery.
