Rebecca Jenkins

Rebecca Marie (Becca) Jenkins, 20, of Casper, Wyoming passed away unexpectedly April 15, 2015 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Rebecca was born March 15, 1995. She is the daughter of Colette Spitzer and Curtis Jenkins. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 2013. After graduating, Rebecca attended the ABLE program where she learned work skills and was able to enjoy many different work opportunities in the Casper community. Throughout her life Rebecca touched many people's lives. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a ray of sunshine. Rebecca was always there to help her friends and family when they needed her. She considered several friends as part of her adopted family. One of her favorite pastimes was to volunteer teaching sign language to others. Rebecca loved animals, especially her dog Buddy and her beta fish, Peaches. She had a great love for children. Rebecca was actively participating in Special Olympics. She was involved in swimming, skiing, bowling, basketball, soccer, and horseback riding. Rebecca is survived by her mother, Colette Spitzer and sister, Alexa Mercado; father, Curt Jenkins, Nebraska and siblings, Linda, C.J. and Matt Jenkins, all Casper, WY; extended family: sister-of-the-heart Autumn Mercado, Casper and brother-of-the-heart Austin Huff, Somerville, AL; grandparents, Quentin and Joyce Spitzer, Bismarck, ND and Yuma, AZ; Ramon Jenkins, Lusk, WY and Sam Bass, Rawlins WY; great-grandmother, Esther Wahl, Tonasket, WA; nieces Kallie and Shyla; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special friends important to Rebecca and her family are: Lorraine Reed, her Big Sister from Big Brothers, Big Sisters; her Special Olympics and Kelly Walsh High School friends; and those who became an important part of her growing up through advocacy, education, support, and roles as family-members-of-the heart. Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister Kaisha Rose Spitzer; great-grandparents Edmund and Margaret Spitzer; great-grandfather Wilbert Wahl; grandmother Genevieve Jenkins, and aunt Mona Jenkins. Viewing will be Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Bustard's Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Bustard's Funeral Home. The reception and continued celebration of her life will be held in the Elk's Dining Room (basement), 108 East 7th Street following the services.
