R. C. "Butch" Moore passed away at his home on Sunday, September 15, in Casper, Wyoming at the age of 71. Butch was born on July 26, 1948 in Boulder, Colorado to Elizabeth (Clayton) Moore and Franklin Lee Moore. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart. After a brief stint of oil field work, he joined the Casper Police Department, serving the Casper community for 20 years. Upon retirement from the Casper PD, he worked for Metro Animal Control and then was Lead Court Security Officer for the Federal building until health issues brought him to his final retirement. Butch married Merry (Johnson) Moore and to this union had a son, Frank Moore. Butch and Merry were happily married for 16 years until her death in 1986. He then met and married Maxine (LeBar) Moore in Casper, 1987. This added a daughter, Karin (LeBar) Galloway and a son, Kirk LeBar to the family. He enjoyed doing yard work and hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Butch was an avid football fan, but loyalty lied with his Denver Broncos. Butch and Maxine enjoyed watching the boys and being involved with all sporting activities through the Kelly Walsh Booster Club. Butch was active in coaching Frank's baseball team for many years. Butch is survived by his wife, Maxine (LeBar) Moore, sons, Frank (Cori) and Kirk LeBar, and one daughter, Karin (Mark) Galloway; one sister, Sue Madsen and one brother Don Cobb; four grandsons, Richard (Rachelle) Moore, Jacob (Amanda) Galloway, Zachary Galloway and Mason LeBar; two granddaughters, Brooklyn Moore and Sophia LeBar. Great grandchildren, Autum, LeJae, Kayla, Reece, Parker, McKinleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Frank; brother, Guy Cobb and brother, Mike Moore. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the VFW Post #10677, 420 N. Elk, Casper, WY 82601. Services will be held at the Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery, 80 Veterans Rd in Evansville, WY on September 20, Friday at 2:00 p.m. A small celebration will follow at the VFW Post #10677 in Casper.
