Raymond "Ray" M. Stinson

June 5, 1937 — June 19, 2024

Raymond Marcus Stinson 87, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024. Raymond was born the youngest of ten in the Upper La Prele area near Douglas to John Marcus and Lillian Elizabeth (Dandell) Stinson on June 5, 1937. Growing up, he worked on the family farm and his brother’s sawmill near Esterbrook. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1956 and joined the United States Navy shortly after, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown from 1956 to 1960. After discharge, he returned to Douglas where he met and married Mary Lee Eathorne. They moved to Casper where Raymond worked as a mechanic at such places as D & M Radiator, Industrial Engine Service, Wyoming Machinery and True Drilling of whom he retired from after 41 years as field mechanic and shop foreman. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard. Tough, ornery, witty are but a few words to describe his personality. Raymond touched the lives of a lot of different people, in many ways. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and his wife of 56 years. He is survived by one sister, Mary Lou Luptak, two sons, Jerry (Kris), Mark (Connie), seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews and his feline companion, Kitty. No services will be held as per Raymond's request. The family is extremely thankful for all the doctors, nurses and especially the people at Casper Dialysis who have helped Raymond and us through all the good times and bad times. May he rest in peace.
