Raymond Lawrence Raugutt December 26, 1932 - October 14, 2108 Raymond "Ray" Lawrence Raugutt, 85, passed away on October 14, 2018 in Casper Wyoming. He was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on December 26, 1932. He graduated high school from Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, South Dakota. Following high school, Ray enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951, serving for four years. In high school, Ray met Cora Wietgrefe; they were married on June 19, 1955 following his discharge from the service. He then attended the University of Montana where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry. Upon graduation, Ray worked for the US Forest Service until his retirement in 1988. He held various positions at multiple locations in northern Idaho and western Montana during his career. Ray is survived by his wife (Cora), a son (Dale), a daughter (Debra), two grandchildren (Nathan and Rebekah), five great grandchildren (Torrey and Grayson Raugutt, Rilynne, Tyler and Tanner Rutar), one sister (Erna Ackerman of Dickenson, North Dakota), numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his father, mother, four brothers and two sisters. Ray was a life-long church member who loved to travel and fish. Following retirement from the Forest Service, he worked in various National Parks which allowed for him to explore many locations in the United States. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lord of Lords Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming with Pastor Fred Schurman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Lord of Lords Lutheran Church, Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown, South Dakota or a charity of your choice.
