Ray Gardener Castlebury was promoted to heaven September 6th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Ray was born August 4th, 1940 in Paris, Texas to Joshua Gardener Castlebury and Elizabeth Ivy LaRue. Ray traveled to Wyoming in 1967 for work and as fate would have it vehicle troubles led him to remain in Casper for the remainder of his life. He started up Castlebrook Welding and Fabrication a welding business he successfully ran for many years until his retirement. Since he never stopped going, retirement only meant that he had more time for other projects. Ray was an avid woodworker, fabricator, and all around master of all trades. He never met a stranger, you could often find him carrying on conversations with people he had never met. His love for God and his uncanny ability to speak with anyone anywhere made him a wonderful witness for the lord. The only thing that came close to his love for the Lord was the love he had for his family. Between singing at church, multiple building projects, and helping family with anything and everything, he found time to fish. He was a wonderful fisherman, but he would rather help his friends and family catch fish as opposed to catching the fish himself. He was happiest when he was working which usually consisted of him helping any and everyone who could use a hand. His fun loving nature and often head scratching antics will be missed greatly. He truly was a blessing to everyone around him and his presence will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Word Christian Fellowship Church on Sunday, September 10 2017 at 1030 am.
