Ramona Hadlock

September 15, 1931 — February 26, 2018

Ramona Lea (Simpson) Hadlock was born September 15, 1931 in Harrah, Oklahoma to Vern A. and Mildred Rachel (Ward) Simpson. She attended schools from around the country while her father worked on the railroad during WWII building bridges to transport service men. She attended high school in Guthrie, Okla, College for Women in Chikasha, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater. She met the love of her life, Edward G. Hadlock while attending Oklahoma A&M college and they married August 17, 1951. They started their family in Oklahoma City and raised their 4 children. Their family moved to Casper in 1970 because they loved Wyoming. Ramona was employed by Control Data and Automation Electronics for many years. Ramona and Ed loved the mountains and outdoors and were avid fisherman and loved friends and family. Their favorite place to camp and fish was in the Big Horn Mountains. They walked many miles to find that favorite fishing hole. Their Family shared many camping trips together sitting around the campfire telling stories and enjoying the outdoors. Ramona loved to knit and crochet. She was always willing to teach people and share her knowledge of knitting. Her knitting friends were a big part of her life in Wyoming, Colorado and Oklahoma and stayed in touch by attending knitting seminars every year. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward G. Hadlock of 44 years. Her parents, Vern A. and Mildred Rachel Ward Simpson and her brother Ernest Lee Simpson. She is survived by her 4 children: Robin D. (Kirk) Nelson, Jennifer A. (Mark) Christman, Christopher A. (Allyn) Hadlock, Douglas S. (Kelly) Hadlock; 8 grandchildren: Jamille Christman, Mindy Christman, Jessica (Jason) Sawdon, Amanda (Joe) Sanchez, Sabrina (Curtis) Thomson, Ryan (Chelsea) Hadlock, Lindsay (Shannon) Moore, Kellie Hadlock; 9 great grandchildren. The family would appreciate memorials be made to First Christian Church, Central Wyoming Hospice, or the Casper Humane Society. Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2018 at First Christian Church.
