Rachel Jacob

Rachel Marie Jacob, age 42, of Casper, passed away on April 22,2023 in her home in Casper after a long illness.

Rachel was born in Billings, MT to Daniel and Ina (Vikse) Butcher on May 9,1980. She attended schools in Billings, Sheridan, and Casper. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1998. She worked in retail her whole life. Her great pleasure was raising her two daughters, Marie and Emily Walters. She enjoyed singing and watching movies with her girls.

Rachel was a member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church where she attended church regularly. She loved visiting family and friends. She also loved playing board games with her family and was very competitive. She collected Beanie Babies, Precious Moments, Christmas ornaments, and board games.  She had a smile that lit up the room and a laugh that was very contagious.

Rachel is survived by: Her two daughters, Marie and Emily Walters of Casper. Father, Daniel Butcher (Joyce) of Fort Collins, CO. Brother, Sean Butcher of Palm Springs, CA. Step-brother, Luke Gooder (Stephanie) of Casper. Step-sister, Andrea Gooder (Cody) of Omaha, NE. Nephews, Aiden and Blake Gooder of Casper and Sebastian Yesel of Omaha, NE. Niece, Guinevere Yesel Omaha, NE. Best Friend, Robin Keeling (Trenton) of Farmington, NM. She is preceded in death by: Her mother Ina (Vikse) Butcher. Brother, Brett Butcher.

Memorial donations in Rachel’s honor may be made to Mount Hope Lutheran School or  Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.

Rachel’s funeral service will be held at Mount Hope Lutheran Church on April 28,2023 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Christian Preus officiating. Reception to follow after the funeral.
