Peter Beatty

Peter (Pete) Beatty, 69, passed away on December 31, 2017 in Casper, Wyoming. Pete was born on February 26, 1948 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Edward Zimmerman and Minnie Crowell. He spent his early childhood in New Castle, Wyoming. He moved to Casper after Minnie remarried and was adopted by George Beatty. Pete attended Westwood Elementary, Dean Morgan, and graduated from NCHS in 1966. He joined the Navy "to see the world" and that he did. Pete served on the USS King as a Radar man and sailed on the Vietnam Coast. Pete returned to Casper and married Elizabeth (Betti) Sullivan and her 4 year old daughter Liz on February 6, 1973. Three children were born in this union, Ashley (deceased), Damien (D.J.) and Aaron (A.J.) Beatty. Pete worked as a heavy duty diesel mechanic (some say one of the best), working for Getty Oil, Utah International, Petrotomics. He was a Proud Member of the United Steel Workers of America and the Utilities Workers of America. He retired from Dave Johnson Power Plant as a Lab Assistant in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and panning for gold. Pete loved his family, especially his grandson Jacob. No flowers are requested; please send donations to the Casper Humane Society or Mt. Hope School. As one of his greatest loves were kids and animals. Pete is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth (Betti) Beatty of Casper, Wyoming; daughter, Liz Sullivan (Patrick) Pritchard of Casper, Wyoming; sons, Damien (DJ) Beatty and Aaron (AJ) (Etta) Beatty all of Portland, Oregon; sister, Charlene Beatty (Edward) Sanders of Laurel, Montana; half-sister, Patty Zimmerman Murry and grandson's Jacob Pritchard and Donnavon Pritchard both of Casper, Wyoming. Also many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter, Ashley Nicole Beatty of Casper, Wyoming and his parents, Minnie and George W. Beatty of Casper, Wyoming. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper with Rev. Dr. Christian Preus of Mount Hope Lutheran Church officiating. .
