Per her request there will be no services for Peggy O'Neal Smith Adams age 92, who died on January 9, 2019 in Casper, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. She was born on July 29, 1926 in Drumright, Oklahoma. Peggy was the daughter of Adam B. and Florence A. Ferguson Smith. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma and Midwest, Wyoming. The family moved to Wyoming in June of 1934 due to a transfer by Stanolin Oil & Gas Co. and later became Amoco. Peggy married C.F. (Jack) Adams in Norman, Oklahoma. He was stationed at the Naval Air Technical Training Center. He preceded her in death Sept.10,1999. After World War II, they lived in Midwest, Wyoming and in 1950 Amoco transferred the family to Powell, Wyoming. They lived in Powell for 23 years, which were some of the happiest time, raising their two sons, Dom & Jack. They never missed a sporting event their sons were participating in. Peggy worked part time doing clerical work for formerly Bonners & Firestone Stores. Most enjoyable was 8 years for Aldrich Lbr. Co. as a bookkeeper & being exposed to the building industry, which ended due to her husband's transfers to Denver, Co., in 1973. They purchased a home in Longmont, Co. and in 1979 they moved to Douglas, WY; due to a career change by her husband. She enjoyed golfing, bridge club, home decorating, genealogy, and playing the stock market. Most important was spending holidays with family and building memories with the grandchildren & their family times at the cabin in the Big Horns. She was a member of PEO Chapter N Douglas, Wyoming, Douglas Ladies Gold Assoc., served as golf chairman, and as president, the only achievement was proposing the necessity to bury the electrical lines that existed on the Douglas Golf Course. After her husband's retirement in 1989 they moved to Casper. Peggy's ashes will be joined with her husband Jack and at a time of the families choosing they are to be scattered in the Big Horns above Buffalo in sight of the Big Horn Basin & also at the cabin on Dullknife should this be a family decision. Survivors include two son, Jack L. Adams of Casper, WY; four grandchildren, Michael & wife of Ft. Collins, Co.; David & wife of Grand Jct., Co.; Tonya Padilla & husband of Ft. Collins, Co.; Stephen & wife of Casper, WY., and 11 great grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Aaron, Cameron, Anthony Adams, Colton and Nico Padilla, Re'nee, Leslye, Staci and Siera Adams and many nieces and nephews. Also, sister, Elouse (Douglas) Berry. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother & father and son, Don L. Adams of Grand Jct., Co.
