Paul Franklin Pippitt Joined His Wife In The Lord's House November 20, 2013. Paul was born April 3, 1923 to Robert Clyde and Fern Iva Pippitt near Windside, Nebraska where he spent his childhood. Paul's father died when he was five years old and life was not easy for the family. Still a young boy when his mother became ill, he was sent to a CCC Camp, It was not a good experience for him. Upon the death of his mother, Paul left home, hitchhiked, road trains, and walked east to look for work. In Illinois a farmer picked him up. He worked on that mans farm and learned a lot. The gentleman and his wife treated him as one of their family and Paul kept in close contact with them until their passing. Paul enlisted in the Army Air Corp on December 26, 1941. He graduated from radio school at Scott Field, Illinois in May of 1942. He trained as a radio operator and top gunner on a B17 and made his first flight to England, September 1942. Shortly thereafter, Paul flew to Gibraltar. November of that same year Paul found himself participating in the invasion of North Africa. Paul was stationed in Casper near the end of WW11 operating as an air traffic controller when the airport was an army base. During his service, Paul flew missions over Greece, Italy, Sardinia, and Sicily. After his service in WW11 he was recalled to Korea. Paul chose to make Casper his home after his military career. In Casper he worked for Jourgenson paints for several years before opening his own paint supply, ‘Pippitt's Paint Center'. On September 23, 1960 Paul Married Blanche Walker, her and her three sons became his family. Paul and Blanche enjoyed winters in Arizona, golf, friends, gardening, and travel together. Forever an avid reader, Paul stored lots of information and could always tell a good story! Paul is survived by: Daughter Bonnie Sims of Colorado, Step son Jack Richard (Dick) Walker, step daughter in law Susan Walker, (James Walker deceased), sister-in law Lillian Decker, granddaughters, Tamara and George Taylor of Spearfish SD, Tracy and Bob McQuiity of Evans CO, Jennifer Lang of Evansville, Angela and Rick Freachea of Casper, his grandson and wife Travis and Jess Walker of Lander. Paul and Blanche also had several great grandchildren. As well as, nieces and nephew: Pam Elston of Casper, Doug Thomas of Nevada and Cindy Strickler of Worland, Judy Grein of Oklahoma, Jerri Hobson of Iowa, Mary Quintero of Texas. Paul is preceded in death by his mother and father Robert Clyde and Fern Iva, his sisters Charlotte (Bette) Ream and Kathryn Veryle Thomas, wife Blanche Pippitt, stepsons Tom and James Walker, nephew Larry Thomas. Visitation for Paul will be held at Bustards Funeral Home Sunday November 24th from 2-5 pm..
