Paul Alan Nissen

Paul Nissen joined his wife in Heaven on Feb 8, 2020, in Casper, Wyoming.
Paul was born in Van Hook, North Dakota to William “Bill” Henry Theodore Nissen and Ruth Ellen (Knox) Nissen. He was the youngest of 7 children who grew up on the family farm. Paul attended schools in New Town and Minot, ND before enlisting the US Navy and serving as an Electronics Technician (Radar) Seaman aboard the USS Taussig an Allen M. Summer-class destroyer.
After medically retiring from the US Navy, he began working with his brother, Merald, in Wyoming doing road construction where he met his wife Patsy Marie Daniels. Paul received a Certificate in Television and Electronics Technology from Bismarck State College and worked in his field for Sears and Roebuck company for many years. Paul took a position with Pacific Power & Light at the Jim Bridger Power Plant outside Rock Springs, WY as a Yard Working Foreman retiring after 25 years of dedicated service.
Paul enjoyed many activities including camping, traveling, and playing cards, however, his greatest passions were bowling, motorcycle riding, and his family.
Paul is survived by his 2 sisters: Betty (Mel) Johnson, Nina (Dale) Uran, 3 sisters-in-law: Marilyn (Elwyn) Nissen, Juanita (Merald) Nissen, and Val (Merald) Nissen. He is also survived by his children: Laurie (Phil) Schnabel, Paula Nissen, Vicki (Bill) Harvey, Kenneth Shock, Ruth (Phill) Harnden, Liz (Matt) Berent, and Misty (Wil) Shehan and his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, his parents Bill and Ruth, brothers Ira, Elwyn, and Merald, sister Ione (Jim) Kerzman, and 2 grandchildren.
Paul’s Celebration of life will be held Friday, July 16, 2021, 12pm to 2pm
