Patricia Lee

September 24, 1932 — March 15, 2013

Patricia was born in Pender, Nebraska September 24, 1932 to Rollin and Lucille (McCready) Johnson. They moved to Lance Creek, Wyoming in 1945 where she spent the rest of her childhood days. She attended elementary and middle school in Lance Creek, and graduated from Manville High School in 1950. Pat married Vernon E. Lee May 15, 1954 in the Community Church in Lance Creek. They raised two daughters, Becky and Monica, in Lance Creek until 1962. That is when she started her worldly adventures, being the Chief Homemaker and Companion to Vernon. First stop, Tripoli, Libya where she was able to take many trips through the Middle East and Europe. What an education for her young daughters, to see the grandeur of the Great Pyramids of Gaza, riding donkeys on the island of Crete, experiencing the beauty of the Blue Grotto. She was also quite an organizer, helping put together multiple plays, dances and fairs at the Oil Company School. Imagine trying to put together decorations and snacks without the benefit of Hobby Lobby, Office Max or Safeway! Next came Brunei, Borneo and finally Sanaa', Yemen. Pat really loved to travel, but she really really loved to shop! She corrupted a whole group of women from Yemen, teaching them all about shopping in Dubai and the wonders of Turkey. They had several very good trips! Yemen also gave Pat the opportunity to participate in her greatest philanthropic endeavor. She belonged to a group of women that put on craft fairs to benefit the local orphanage set up by Mother Teresa. These women produced all of the crafted items themselves. Every trip Pat took back to Yemen saw a new suitcase filled with the items needed for her group to continue on. Pat was a wonderful person who made friends wherever she went. She loved animals and always had a cat or dog around. She is survived by her husband Vernon and one daughter, Monica (Roger) Schulte, both of Casper; Brothers Larry (Marion) Johnson of San Bernadino, CA and Dennis (Algera) Johnson of Manville, WY; four Grandchildren Jason (Alicia) Daugherty of Las Vegas, NV, Brandon (Brandee) Schulte, Kelsey Schulte and Taylor (Bailey and Drue) Schulte-Jessee all of Casper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Lucille, and her eldest daughter, Becky Ann Lawson. Patricia was a fighter. She confounded her Physicians with a iron will to live until she was ready to say goodbye. She lost her long, hard fought battle with multiple ailments, including kidney disease, lung disease and bowel cancer on March 15, 2013 at 4:30 PM. The family was able to be at her side in the comfort of the Central Wyoming Hospice Home. A farewell party will be held at the Eagles Club reception room March 20, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Memorials may be made in her name to Central Wyoming Hospice Home and Transitions or the Casper Humane Society.
