Patricia Ann Hatcher

September 7, 1937 — July 25, 2023

Casper, Wyoming

Patricia Ann Hatcher went to be with her husband Marvin Lee Hatcher in heaven on July 25, 2023. Patricia was an only child born to Alice and Gunner Eckberg on September 7, 1937, in Compton, California. Her parents moved shortly after her birth to Elsie, Nebraska, where she was raised on the family farm. She attended a one-room schoolhouse until high school, where she attended Perkins County High School in Grant, Nebraska. Due to the distance from her home, she lived with a local family closer to the school. Patricia attended college at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. Throughout her life, Patricia was a social butterfly, being a part of multiple clubs in high school and then a part of numerous organizations throughout her life.

Patricia met Marvin, the love of her life, whom she later married. She would often recount to her grandchildren that it was love at first sight, and the rest was history. Due to Marvin’s occupation, they lived in multiple places, and in every place, they found a community through their joint love of Christ. In 1969, they found their forever home in Casper, Wyoming, where Patricia learned to love the wild wild west through her love of Alcova Lake and their beloved cabin and trees on Casper Mountain. Above all things, she loved God and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her quirkiness and quick wit always brought happiness and a laugh to the family, and it will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin, her father, Gunner, and her mother, Alice. Patricia is survived by her son, Todd Hatcher of Elsie, Nebraska, her daughter, Julie Hatcher Merdink (John) of Dixon, Wyoming, and her son John Hatcher (Paula) of Casper, Wyoming. She leaves behind a legacy of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include: James Hatcher, Todd (T.J.) Hatcher, Montana Merdink, Justin Hatcher, Taylor Hatcher, and Peyton Hatcher. Her great-grandchildren include: Isaiah Hatcher, Jacob Hatcher, Micah Hatcher, John Michael Merdink, Caleb Hatcher, Chance Robidoux, and Jovianna Hatcher.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 31st, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 S Conwell St. Patricia was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Casper Humane Society at 849 East E Street, Casper, WY 82601.
