Patricia Dunn

Patricia "Patty" Dunn, aged 77, died peacefully on May 21, 2017, with family by her side at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home in Casper, WY. Patty was born October 10, 1939, in Sisseton, South Dakota, the daughter of Leo and Esther (Olson) Stapleton. Patty grew up in Sisseton, South Dakota and graduated from Sisseton High School. After high school Patty moved to Denver, Colorado, where she pursued a modeling career and worked for Eastern Airlines as a stewardess. Patty loved to travel and often took her mother, Esther Stapleton, on trips around the world while working for Eastern. In 1972, Patty married the love of her life, Mel Dunn, in Miami Florida. Mel practiced law and Patty worked in the practice, assisting her husband, for over 30 years. Mel, Patty, and their children lived in Miami, Florida and Casper, Wyoming. In addition to raising their two children, Patty was an active member of the Catholic Church, and her faith and kind spirit were apparent to all who knew her. Patty volunteered at St. Anthony's Church in Casper, and also at Central Wyoming Hospice of Casper. Patty loved the outdoors, travel, her family, and was a beacon of love and grace to all who knew her. Patty is survived by her husband, Mel Dunn of Casper, WY; daughters, Michele Mitchum of Laramie, WY and Melanie Dunn of Casper, WY; her brother, Paul Stapleton of Sisseton, SD; her sister-in-law, Mary Dunn of Casper, WY; her three grandchildren and a number of other relatives and dear friends. There will be a memorial and visitation at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper, WY, on Saturday May 27, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to come by to remember Patty and visit with her family. A private graveside service for family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Central Wyoming Hospice at www.cwhp.org or 319 S.
