Funeral services for Oscar Leo Gilbert, 83, will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2015 at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Oscar passed away on September 12, 2015 in Casper. He was born on June 7, 1932 in Rockerville, South Dakota to Edward and Margaret (Raga) Gilbert. In the early 1950's he met and married Vivian and the two had three children together. After their divorce he met Gloria Suba whom he spent the rest of his life with. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1952-1955. After his time in the service he began a long career driving truck for the oil field until his retirement in 1998 after heart surgery. Oscar was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved raising horses and mules. Above all of this he loved his time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers, Edward, Ray, Roy, Curtis, and Clyde. Sisters, Edna and Mary Ellen. He is survived by his three sons, Bart Gilbert, and Burt Gilbert of Tucson, AZ and Brett Gilbert of Valparaiso, IN; Kristine Suba, Kathleen Suba and Kari (Billy)Brenton; grandchildren, Dusty, Christopher, Stephanie, Paige, Kyle (Jessica), Kory, Konor, Kody, Keller, Sheena (Randy), Ericka, Brooke, Valerie, Briston, Jessica, Bryce, Brett, Billy, and Dylan; as well as great-grandchildren, Brody, Hailey, Addalyn, Brittney, and Brantley, as well as numerous more family and friends.
