Memorial services for JoAnne Taylor will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 12, 2010 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Barbara Watters officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. JoAnne (Davis) Taylor was born on February 8, 1927 to Sam H. (Bud) and Opal (Minnich) Davis in Hulett, Wyoming. JoAnne was a Wyoming native. She was raised in Sheridan and Moorcroft before coming to Casper in 1941. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1944. She then enrolled in the U. S. Cadet Nurse Corps, graduating as a registered nurse in 1947 from the Medical and Surgical School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She returned to Casper to practice nursing. JoAnne married Norman F. Taylor on December 23, 1948 in Casper; they had three children and five grandchildren. They later divorced. She was active in nursing at the Wyoming Medical Center and in several medical offices. She was the R.N. Director for Blue Envelope Rheumatic Fever (throat culture) Control program for 26 years, retiring in 1984. Joanne stayed active as a member of Blue Envelope (heart division) and as a Meals-on-wheels volunteer. She was also a charter member of the Women in Military Service Memorial. She is survived by her children, Gordon and Debi Taylor, Glen and Renee Taylor all of Casper, and Norann {Taylor} and William Mann of Camas, Washington. Her grandchildren include Jay and Bryan Taylor of Casper, Andrea Mann, Nichole Mann Dobriniski (Greg) and Andrew Mann all of Camas, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations to Special Olympics of Wyoming, Meals on Wheels, or the donor's charity of choice, would be appreciated.
