Norene Clara Marsh Brauer, 81, passed away on February 1, 2016 at her home in Casper. Norene was born on May 6, 1934 to Althea and George Marsh in Casper, Wyoming. Except for a brief stay in California during World War II, and during her studies at Denver University in 1956 through 1958, she lived in Casper her entire life. She embraced Wyoming's culture and values of independence, charity, and faith. She was the devoted mother of four sons and the proud wife of Bill Brauer. Norene graduated from Natrona County High School in 1952, and from Denver University in 1958. She was active in her community and her church, having served as President of the Altar and Rosary Society at Our Lady of Fatima, and President of the Casper Service League. She was generous with her time and delivered for Meals on Wheels for years, and worked at the Service League's Glass House. Norene and Bill were active members of Casper's Senior Center, and participated in plays, concerts and all of the activities that kept them connected to their community and friends. Norene was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill Brauer, her sister Marilyn Kelly and her brother Chuck Marsh. Norene is survived by her four sons; Rod (Paula Rae), Dave (Anne), Steve, and Tom (Laura), and her grandchildren, Molly, Jessica, Gregory, Miranda, Jayde and Tessa, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Thursday February 4th, at 6:00 p.m. at Bustards Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday February 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, followed by a reception in the basement of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Norene's memory may be made to Casper Family YMCA or Central Wyoming Hospice.
