Nelda Koons

Casper - Jean Koons, 91, lifefime homemaker, died Oct. 2, 2017 at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living. She was born to Ecie and Clarence Smith in Nebraska, but was raised by her mother and stepfather, George Hettrick in Wyoming. In 1944 she graduated from Powell High School and married John Koons, oil engineer. They were married 50 years. Her primary interests were fashion, rose gardening and home interior decorating. Her memberships included: St Mark's Episcopal Church and Altar Guild, Petroleum Club where she was past president of Petroleum Club Ladies, Paradise Valley Country Club, PEO, and two chapters of Red Hat. Preceding her in death; her son, husband, parents and two brothers. She is survived by her grandchildren Kim (Dave) Egedahl of Texas, Lexi Uvary of Montana, Ken Koons of Casper, several nieces and nephews of Colorado, and a daughter and her husband of Nevada Private family services were held. Memorials to St Mark's Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
