Neil McMurry

Funeral services for Neil Albert "Mick" McMurry will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Casper Events Center with Father Ruzicka officiating. Military honors will be accorded. Neil passed away March 10, 2015 in Casper, WY. Mick was born February 5, 1946 to WN (Neil) McMurry and Ellie McGregor McMurry in Casper, WY. Mick spent most of his life in Casper including attending college at Casper College before going on to the University of Wyoming and then serving in the United States Army. On December 21, 1973 Mick married Susie Warburton in Glenrock, WY. Together they raised two daughters, Trudi and Jillian. Mick was a brilliant entrepreneur and businessman and a philanthropist. He had a vision for his Wyoming and never stopped doing all he could to build a better Wyoming. He loved Wyoming and was proud to call it home. Mick was a hard working man and felt right at home operating any kind of heavy equipment. Fast cars and airplanes were among some of his passions and he especially loved to fly his helicopter. He was a proud supporter of the University of Wyoming as member of the Cowboy Joe club, and UW Alumni Association. Mick was a man of strong character, and unshakable morals and values. He had many passions in life but nothing was nearer or dearer to him than his family. Mick took great pride in his Wife Susie and their girls and later his grandchildren. He was always his family's biggest supporter. Mick is survived by his Wife Susie, daughters; Trudi (Tyler) Holthouse and Jillian McMurry, Grandchildren, Lou Davis, Tayla Davis, Tillie Holthouse, Ellie Holthouse, Evie, Lily and Max Kaschmitter, and one great grandson,, Neil Campbell all of Casper, WY, his Brother Victor (Lupita) McMurry of Phoenix, AZ, Sisters, Carol (Pat Spieles) McMurry of Loveland, CO, and Susan (Doug) Samuelson of Cheyenne, WY. Both of Neil's parents preceded him in death as well as his sister Gayle Kinnison and his Mother and Father in-law, Robert and Tillie Warburton. Mick's family has asked that memorial contributions be made to The Casper Family YMCA or the McMurry foundation.
