Naomi Pearl Brungardt

February 24, 1936 — November 22, 2024

Naomi was born on February 24, 1936, in Bayard, Nebraska to Homer and RaeElla Lovel. She attended Bayard Hugh School and Alliance St. Agnes. She grew up on a farm south of Bayard by Chimney Rock, riding a horse to a two-room country school. Having no brothers she worked side by side with her dad on the farm where she met her future husband, Edwin Brungardt. Ed was working on a wheat combining crew from central Kansas. The story was Ed helped Naomi with a task that took more muscles than she had, Ed made the comment that Naomi owed him a kiss. Her reply was that her dad oversaw all payments, so go see him if you want a kiss. Ed and Naomi were married in Bayard on September 5, 1953. The couple promptly moved to Ellis, Kansas where they gave birth to Eddy. Ed and Naomi first moved to Southern Colorado then back to Bayard to find employment. After Ed passed away Naomi moved to Glenrock, Wy and remained there until her passing. Naomi was skilled in both needle point and crocheting, she made blankets for each grandchild, great grandchild, and great-great grandchild. Naomi remained active in the church playing the organ, teaching religious education classes, helping with funerals, weddings, and preparing Sunday bulletins.
